In absence of any State / Regional Office of KVIC at Port Blair, the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme(PMEGP scheme) is being implemented in A&N Islands through the A&N Islands Khadi & V.I. Board and DIC as under:

Finance through PMEGP Scheme

The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Govt. of India, New Delhi introduced the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in 2008. This credit-linked, centrally sponsored, subsidy-oriented self-employment scheme was launched by merging PMRY and REGP, both of which were active until 31st March 2008. It aims to generate employment opportunities by establishing micro-enterprises in both rural and urban areas.

The Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is the Nodal Agency at the national level for implementing the PMEGP scheme.

In absence of any State / Regional Office of KVIC at Port Blair, the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme(PMEGP scheme) is being implemented in A&N Islands through the A&N Islands Khadi & V.I. Board and DIC on 60:40 ratio as under:

  • ✔️ Financial assistance for entrepreneurs in both rural and urban areas
  • ✔️ Open to individuals aged 18+ with at least 8th standard education (for project cost above ₹5 lakh)
  • ✔️ Promotes self-reliance and employment generation
Who Can Apply?
  • ✔️ Any individual above 18 years of age
  • ✔️ No income limit to avail assistance
  • ✔️ Project Cost: ₹20 lakh (service/trading sector), ₹50 lakh (manufacturing)
